Cookies are small files a site stores in your browser. We also use browser local storage for the same kinds of job — remembering a signed-in session, or remembering whether you have already answered the cookie banner.

You can browse public pages without creating an account. Some features (checkout, portals, saved preferences) cannot work without essential storage.

These are required to operate UPPER and are set whether or not you accept analytics:

Authentication and session cookies from our identity provider, so you remain signed in while you move between pages.

Security and load-balancing cookies used by our host to route requests and protect forms.

Your cookie choice itself, stored locally as upper-cookie-consent so we do not ask on every page load.

Payment cookies created by Stripe only when you enter checkout — they process the card payment and are not used by UPPER for marketing.

If you press Accept, we may load Vercel Analytics and, when configured, Google Analytics 4. These help us understand aggregate use of the public site (which pages are read, whether the service is slow). They are not used to build an advertising profile, and they are not loaded if you choose Essential only.

Error monitoring (Sentry) is used to keep the product stable. It is not an advertising tool. Diagnostic events are minimised and are not a substitute for analytics consent.

Session cookies expire when you close the browser. Persistent cookies and local storage remain until they expire or you delete them.

To change analytics consent, clear site data for rentalsbyupper.com in your browser (or remove the upper-cookie-consent value). The banner will appear again so you can choose Essential only or Accept.

Most browsers also let you block cookies entirely. If you block essential cookies, sign-in, checkout, and some portal features will not function.
